Edwin E. Henslee, M.D.

 Edwin E. Henslee, M.D. grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma and began his career in healthcare as a nurse.  After five years working with intensive care patients Dr. Henslee decided to further his education and pursue medical school.  Initially he was drawn to family medicine and completed his Family Medicine Residency in Evansville, Indiana at Deaconess Hospital. 

During that residency Dr. Henslee worked closely with Dr. Hastetter, who has been associated with the program’s education and supervision of resident doctors for several years.  Dr. Henslee was drawn to the specialty of OB\GYN because the potential for long term, close relationships with patients and their families he found particularly gratifying.    

Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas is where Dr. Henslee chose to complete a second residency but this time in the specialty of Obstetrics & Gynecology.  He was a finalist for the prestigious Donald F. Richardson Memorial Prize Paper Award, given for the most outstanding original research work for an Obstetrics and Gynecology resident nationwide by The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) for his extensive research in diabetes in pregnancy.
